2007: A Kent Odyssey

It's a good time of year. It's only 10 days away until Christmas. It's only one full week of school until the break. Lost: Season 3 is out on DVD. Good times.

It's only customary to reflect on the year towards late December. So, let's give it a shot:

  • The year began with a rough start. Oklahoma University played in the Fiesta Bowl against Boise State. It was a terrific game, but didn't end up the way I would have preferred. OU is again going to the Fiesta Bowl to take on West Virginia. Maybe some revenge will take place.
  • I got to go to Falls Creek as a sponsor with H2oChurch.tv. I had a blast.
  • I started playing percussion Sunday mornings at my church.
  • Got to sing the chorus to "Breakfast" at a Newsboys concert in Ada. I also got to work the concert as security right near the stage. Thanks Purd.
  • Went to see MuteMath in concert... again. It was AWESOME.
  • I moved into a new house right next to work. Some may think that wouldn't be a good thing. But with gas costing as much as high definition TVs, I think it's a good thing.
  • I started my second year teaching and coaching. The second year is MUCH smoother than the first year. This year marks my first real entrance into high school athletics. I'm now high school assistant, junior varsity coach, and freshmen girls coach.
  • I received my first technical foul as a coach. I deserved it.
  • Not much progress in the search for her.
  • I will reserve a spot here for something that may occur in the next two weeks. Who knows?

Every year has its ups and downs. This year was no exception. But I still consider myself blessed beyond any measure despite anything that happens or doesn't happen.

Until next time, vaya con Dios.
