There's a pile up on the ocean I-40
With a new school year brings so many things. This particular year we have a new boss (which is always scary at first). But that has gone very well so far. There are also new students. Trying to get them oriented to my teaching style and philosophy as well as getting them acquainted and comfortable with a new school. Then there's the familiar students. Those that you know with those that you have had already in class. I have changed a few things that I am doing so having them adjust to that will be challenging. Each year brings new challenges. But I look forward to them to make this year better than the last.
I can't tell you how much I have learned since I entered the teaching profession. I have always had the very common fear of speaking in public. While unfamiliar situations still put me very much on edge, I have become much more comfortable speaking in front of others. I am far from being seasoned. I still have much to learn. Every day I learn something new... even if I don't realize it.
So, I'll leave you with a quote. Until next time, vaya con Dios.
"A well-informed mind is the best security against the contagion of folly and of vice. The vacant mind is ever on the watch for relief, and ready to plunge into error, to escape from the languor of idleness."
Ann Redcliffe, The Mysteries of Udolpho, 1764
