Nothing for November

Some people do the "No Shave November" or the "Post a blog everyday in November" thing. I did nothing. I'm not dedicated enough to be dedicated. It's a vicious circle. Instead, I've been coaching like a fiend. Games nearly every night. November for me has been "Not Free November." Maybe one free night for the last few weeks.

During one away game last week I was informed that I had a flat tire on my truck (which was at the school). Come back late that night I had planned on exchanging the tire for the spare. That would have been a good idea had the spare tire mechanism worked. Instead of driving my truck back home, I took the bus home. I needed it anyway because I had to coach a junior high game the following morning. After that game I aired up my tire and hoped that I could make it to Ada to get it fixed. The place I usually go to closes on Saturday at 12:00 p.m so I reluctantly chose to go to WalMart. I made it to WalMart easily (with the aid of excessive speeds). When they FINALLY got to my truck they told me that the flat was fixed. I then asked them if they could exchange that tire with the spare because the tread was getting thin. They tried and did not succeed. So, I guess there is something wrong with the spare tire mechanism.... great,..... something else for me to fix.

Something else to fix, you say? Yes. I lightly hit a deer a few days ago. The damage was minimal but enough to be a pain in the you-know-what. It broke a few places on the grill and jammed the bumper slightly. The worst part about the whole thing is that the turn signal lights on both sides pops out of place. Nothing that duct tape can't fix.

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, which means significant weight gain will follow.

So, what did I do in November? Nothing... and everything.

Until next time, vaya con Dios.

You don't see that everyday

Yesterday, during lunch, a student comes up to me saying that a car was smoking. I misunderstood thinking that he meant someone was smoking IN a car. I walk outside thinking that it's just a parent waiting for their kid. But, in the student parking lot, was a car literally smoking. A few minutes later it was clear that the car was on fire. When I first saw it, I thought it was just another case of an old piece of crap smoking due to years of use. But the car hadn't been running for who knows how long. So, to make a long story short, a car caught on fire at school yesterday. It was something you normally don't see everyday.

Quarters and Dimes

"Change" is coming? I hope I'm wrong about this so-called "change" we are about to face. If not, we are in for a long 4 years.

The outcome of the election didn't turn in my favor, but, that's okay. God is bigger than any political office or position. Am I worried? Well, anytime a new leader emerges, there's always going to be some kind of anxiety or worry. No matter who it may be. No president has ever been perfect. Obama is no different. He'll make mistakes just like all of the ones previous to him. Christians need to pray for him even if you voted for him or not.

Until next time, vaya con Dios.
